Outline

Aiming to contribute to the further advancing academics and the development of society at our university, the Research Promotion Organization was launched in July 2010. This organization formulates a basic research promotion policy, enabling our university to function as an “international base for practical academics” and to strengthen the system for producing research results that meet the university’s goals and society’s demands. Currently, the Research Promotion Organization consists of two departments and one center—namely, the Department of Research Promotion, the Department of Industry–Academia–Government Collaboration, and the Instrumental Analysis Center, with each department having offices according to its duties.

Department of Research Promotion—An organization that provides research support to faculty and researchers

The Department of Research Promotion provides support to our faculty and researchers, mainly with their research topics in an entry mode, to enable our university to be an “international base for practical academics,” through strengthening the university’s research capabilities and promoting advanced research. To enhance the development of human resources through advanced research, the department plays the following specific roles:

  1. Planning, drafting, and implementing medium- to long-term strategies on identifying fields with high standards that are characteristic of our university and for supporting plans for developing such fields to make the university an “international base for practical academics,” as set forth in the Third Medium-Term Targets.
  2. Planning, drafting, and implementing medium- to long-term strategies on research promotion measures to ensure academic diversity, including basic research that contributes to social welfare and sustainable development in the future.
  3. Collecting and disseminating information of large-scale funding programs as well as providing support for applications.
  4. Administration of human resources development concerning intellectual property affairs on campus.
  5. Public relations about our university’s research results.
  6. Support for ensuring various compliances that faculty and researchers should satisfy.
