Enroll in Overseas Graduate Degree Program During the Fellowship Period
● If a DC Fellow intends to enroll in an overseas graduate degree program, all of the following conditions must be met and the host researcher must approval the enrollment:
① Enrollment in an overseas graduate is essential for carrying out the Fellow’s research project.
② Enrollment in an overseas graduate does not interfere with the Fellow’s research project.
③ The host institution permits enrollment in the overseas graduate degree program.

1. [Before Departure] Contact JSPS through 学振マイページ
If your period of overseas travel is 28 days or longer, please notify JSPS through 学振マイページ at least one month prior to departure and provide the following details: destination (Country),travel period, purpose of travel, etc.
*If your travel plans change after notifying JSPS, you must also report the changes through 学振マイページ.
2. Required Documents
・海外大学院等正規課程在籍届 <Form 5-10>
[Submission Deadline] Before enrollment or at the start of DC Fellowship period
Once you have prepared the required documents, please submit them to our section by email. Our section will submit them to JSPS after completing the internal procedures.
3. [After Your Entry] Contact JSPS through 学振マイページ
After returning to Japan, please register the details through 学振マイページ and submit the required documents to our section by email.

(1) 海外渡航届 <Form 3-1>
(2) 海外渡航報告書 <Form 3-2> *DC Fellows only (To be completed by the host researcher.)
[Submission Deadline] Within one month after returning to Japan
Once you have prepared the required documents, please submit them to our section by email. Our section will submit them to JSPS after completing the internal procedures.
4. Notes
・For DC Fellows enrolled in an overseas graduate degree program, the two-thirds limit on the total overseas travel period does not apply.
・Even while you are abroad, you are required to submit year-end adjustment-related documents and research reports for JSPS Fellows by the deadlines set by JSPS.
・If you receive a Grant-in-Aid for JSPS Fellows (KAKENHI), please contact us separately.
