Change Fellowship Category from DC to PD

● JSPS DC Fellows who obtain a doctoral degree during their fellowship period must change their fellowship category to JSPS PD Fellow in order to continue their research activities as JSPS Fellows.
● If you receive a Grant-in-Aid for JSPS Fellows (KAKENHI), separate documents will also be required.

Once your expected doctoral degree award date has been determined, please notify JSPS through [学振マイページ] 

2. Required Documents

(1）資格変更願 <Form 2-4>　
(2)-1. Change of Host Institution
・受入研究機関変更届 <Form 2-1>
・受入承諾書 <Form 2-2>

(2)-2. Change of Host Researcher, Host Researcher’s Department or Position, or Fellow’s Department (No change of Host Institution)
・受入研究者等変更届 <Form 2-3>

(3) A copy of degree Certificate

[Submission Deadlne] Within one month of obtaining the doctoral degree

Once you have prepared the required documents, please submit them to our section by email. Our section will submit them to JSPS after completing the internal procedures.

3. Notes

・International students who change their fellowship category from DC to PD must also change their status or residence from Student to Professor. For further details, please see the link below:

・Those who change fellowship category from DC to PD upon obtaining a doctoral degree become PD Fellows under the fellowship sheme. They do not become PD Fellows employed by their host institution under the Employment Support Program.
